Buy Camco for a first season. It is stocked everywhere, which means a damaged section is a same-day fix in almost any town rather than a three-day wait. Buy Valterra if you have already had a fitting fail on you, because the fitting is where these kits actually break and it is the part Valterra is known for.

Where Camco wins
Availability, and it is a bigger deal than it sounds. Sewer hoses fail at inconvenient moments, in unfamiliar places. A brand you can buy from the RV aisle of a general store in a small town is a brand that turns a failure into an inconvenience rather than a crisis.
